Diversity Through Adversity: Making a Team Work

The 2016-17 women’s lacrosse team at Keene State College team essentially revolved around Democratic leadership. What has worked for the Owls this year? What hasn’t? How can team dynamics improve?

Diversity Through Adversity begins with a question: What does it take to make a team work?  This is a structure in which members of the group take a more participative role in the decision making process. Everyone is given the equal opportunity to join forces, ideas are exchanged freely, and discussion is encouraged. While the democratic process tends to focus on group equality and the free flow of ideas, the  group focus is to offer guidance and control.
